Bridget Campbell LaVergne’s work moves between painting, photography, writing and music. What connects those mediums is less a particular style than a way of looking: close attention to people, place, memory, faith, humor, beauty and the ordinary moments that carry more weight than they first appear to.
Earlier chapters
Images and words came first.
Her newspaper work brought photography and writing together around the life of her community. Painting, music and newer creative projects grew alongside that foundation rather than replacing it.
The result is a body of work that can be playful one moment and deeply personal the next — but is always recognizably hers.
